LEAVE TRAVEL ALLOWANCE: Leave Travel Allowance is the type of allowance given by an employer to their employees for travelling to

any place in India either on Leave, after retirement and termination of service.

A. Travel by AIR

B. Travel by any other moods
i. Rail facility available

ii. Rail facility not available
a. Recognized Public Transport Exists
b. Recognized Public Transport does not Exist

A. Travel by AIR:
Exemption: 1. Actual Expenses 2. Economy Class Fare (Air India)

B. Rail facility available:
Exemption: 1. Actual Expenses 2. 1st Class AC Rail Fare

ii. Rail facility not available:

a. Recognized Public Transport Exists: -

Exemption:
1. Actual Expenses
2. 1st Class or Deluxe Class Bus Fare

b. Recognized Public Transport does not Exist:
Exemption:
1. Actual Expenses
2. 1st Class Rail Fare distance by state Route.


Who can claim LTA: Individual Citizen or Non-Citizen can claim LTA for Travel Cost for Themself and His/her Family (Spouse, Children, Dependent Parents.

Condition for Claiming LTA:

1. Only Domestic Travel Can Claim Exemption Not International.
2. Exemption for Themself and two Children and dependents Parents.
3. LTA Limited provided by Employer

Not Claim under LTA:
1. Local Conveyance
2. Sightseeing
3. Hotel Accommodation

Benefit:
Block Year:
1.  four Calendar Years is one Block Year.
2. two times Benefit can take 
3. Currently Block Year- 21-24
4. 10th Block year is going on.

Documents for LTA Claim:
1. Tickets
2. Boarding Pass
3. Invoice provided by travel agent.
4. leave Approved Copy or Attendance sheet

Instead of OLA - We should refer Cabs (Ola / Uber/ etc.)?
