Navigate to Member Section
Go to the “Member” menu on the top bar.
Then select “Profile” → “UAN Allotment / Member Details” or “Member Modification” (depending on the update type).
Search for the Employee
Enter the UAN or Member ID of the employee.
Click “Search” to view the employee’s details.
Edit Member Details
Once the member details open, look for the field labeled “Pension Flag” or “Pension (EPS) Eligibility”.
This field determines whether the employee’s PF contribution includes a pension portion (EPS).
Update Pension Flag
If the employee is eligible for EPS (Employee Pension Scheme) → Select “Yes”.
If the employee has already opted out of pension (typically those joining EPF after 01-Sep-2014 with salary > ₹15,000 and not a previous EPS member) → Select “No”.
Save the Changes
Click “Save” or “Submit” to record the update.
The system may prompt for DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) or e-Sign authentication—complete it if required.
Check the Update
Go to “Member → View → Member Details” to confirm that the Pension Flag has been updated successfully.
You can also verify this in the ECR (Electronic Challan-cum-Return) before submission for the next month.
Important Notes:
The pension flag should be updated before generating the ECR to ensure the contribution splits correctly between PF and Pension.
Once an employee is marked as “Non-Pensionable”, EPS contribution (8.33%) will not be deducted in future months.
For employees already having UAN linked with previous employment, their pension flag usually remains as per the previous record — update only if there’s a genuine error.
